It's fairly easy (and free) for an individual to set up hundreds of unique email addresses. However, it's very cost prohibitive to purchase a lot of cell phone lines. This is one of the reasons why Truth Social wants to tie your account to a unique cellphone number.
It stinks for people like you who only have a flip-phone but I cut Truth some slack here because they have a lot of enemies that want to shut them down or otherwise prevent them from becoming successful.
I know there are techie workaround for this, such as using a VPN and extracting the verification code out of HTML code (that is linked to your flip phone number) but I'm thinking because you have a flip phone to begin with, this is probably not something you would have the skills for (this is beyond my skill level as well).
Hopefully Truth Social can do a workaround for people in your situation. You might want to try emailing their support team at support@truthsocial.com.
Good luck.
Many thanks for your cogent explanation; now it makes sense why they won’t allow email. I don’t have the skillset to do that workaround either, so I’ll just have to watch from the sidelines.
Thank you for your information and perspective. It’s helpful.
The work around needs to be on their end. “Device detection” is common practice now and also fairly easy to set up on their end. This is all they need to prevent multiple accounts from one device. Bots would have to use a different PC device for every account.
