The problem with the pipeline blowing is going to hurt Europe a lot more than Russia. Yeah, they lose the opportunity to sell more gas, but Europe seems to not want to get gas from Russia anyway.
On the other hand, the bridge is in the homeland. And as Lonepalm pointed out, it is a critical link for moving goods by rail to the battlefield.

I was thinking about the investments in both the bridge as well as the pipes. By all accounts Pootin ponied up 3 bill$ for the bridge but he still spent at least 1bill$ on each pipe. Sales or no sales that has to bite. I really would expect to see Pooty sending out his pipe laying ship to pick up the damaged section and maybe super glue it. Failing that we’ll have to look for his other plan but there’s no way he’s going to leave that head rig complex un-used for long.
