I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen “Apocalypto”-a history lesson within a good thriller-and when Jaguar Paw wins over his assassins and is standing with his wife and kids watching from a distance the Spanish ships arriving, his wife asks him if they should go out and greet the strangers when they come ashore-he says no-we are going to pack up and get as far away into the jungle as possible and live our lives-proving that he was the only Native in the bunch able to see that an invasion was about to happen, and with the common sense to survive what was coming by getting the hell out of Dodge...
The actor who played Jaguar Paw is Hispanic and Native American-also a Native Texan. Most of the actors were Hispanic/Native American to provide authenticity/reality...
