Growing up is hard. We are confronted with discovering who we really are. We often compare out insides to our observations of other’s outsides. A young boy may see girls as having more fun, more friends, more control over their lives. He does not see their internal struggles that everyone has. Rather than those in authority over them saying, “Give it time. It will be OK.”. They encourage them in their false comparison. “Yes, maybe you would be happier as a girl.” This is wrong, it is wrapped up in the bondage of self.

Excellent points. Puberty is a harrowing process, for many people. It can be a time of feeling awkward, lonely, disconnected with one's childhood past, and nothing to look forward to. A lot of people know this, from their own life experience. But not until now, have young people facing such pressures been offered the 'alternative' of puberty blockers, and a brand new body. I can see how a child, knowing little of the consequences, would be tempted.
