Iranian artist Firoozeh Bazrafkan fearlessly shredded the Quran in front of the Iranian embassy in Denmark—an act that could cost her life in Islamic Iran and places her at risk even in the Islamized West.

The focal point of her performance was the deliberate shredding of the Quran, which challenged the oppressive regime's hypocritical demand for respect for the holy book while highlighting their severe violations of women's rights.

Firoozeh passionately emphasized the importance of free speech in the struggle for human rights and democracy in Iran, where the regime brutally suppresses its people, especially women.

Never forget Homa Darabi, a talented physician who took her own life by setting herself on fire in a public protest against the oppression of women in Islamic Iran. She did this after a 16-year-old girl was shot to death for wearing lipstick. In the book, Why We Left Islam, her sister includes a direct quote from one of the country's leading clerics: “The specific task of women in this society is to marry and bear children. They will be discouraged from entering legislative, judicial, or whatever careers which may require decision-making, as women lack the intellectual ability and discerning judgment required for these careers.”

Brave. Long process.
My suggestion for her next performance... put it in a blender or food processor, added water, and sculpted something with it (Khamenie’s bust maybe) and then smash it with a hammer.

Unfortunately, she’s a dead woman walking
