Chinese VLCC granted Houthi passage as militia tightens Saudi blockade

Cosco Shipping's VLCC Xin Long Yang has secured Houthi clearance to transit the Bab el-Mandeb strait after two U-turns in the Red Sea
Chinese tankers returning from Yanbu could negotiate passage on a case-by-case basis, though vessels heading to load remain in a holding pattern
Expected transit comes as Houthis claimed to have attacked two Saudi tankers earlier today, escalating from blockade to direct military strikes

Those Houthis have certainly been busy beavers, damming up the second ME supply route. I see Saudi Arabia has actually responded to their block of SA oil shipment. Nice to see that the Houthis may have allowed a non oil Cosco shipment to transit. I wonder what kind of bribe Cosco might have had to pay to accomplish that. Of course the fact they are not trying to ship oil probably helps. There is certainly an amazing amount of activity now taking place in these parts, most of it probably not appearing in US news reports. Thank you again for the long work you are supplying us with.
