Tensions in Yemen appear to be rising rapidly:

-Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi has stepped up his rhetoric against Saudi Arabia, warning of possible military confrontation.
-Senior Houthi officials are in a state of heightened concern.
-Houth-held areas, mainly Sana’a, have been under an unusually high security alert for roughly the past week.
-Several Houthi leaders have moved to undisclosed locations as a precaution.
-Many relatives of senior Houthi officials have departed Sana’a for Amran and Saada governorates.
-The Houthis are reaching out to local figures, offering significant financial incentives to recruit thousands of new fighters.
-Yemen’s internationally recognized govt has placed its armed forces on maximum operational readiness.

President of Yemen Rashad al-Alimi:

Messages to our people in the militia areas:

1-You are the soul of this republic, and we will not abandon your aspirations, no matter the sacrifices. We have offered every possible initiative to alleviate your suffering, protect your lives, and open horizons for peace, but this renegade group has chosen, every time, to flee into escalation and destruction.

2-The state was never the reason for the closure of Sana’a Airport; rather, it presented one initiative after another to operate flights through the national carrier and ensure the legal continuation of travel for all Yemenis. However, the militias went so far as to seize the aircraft of Yemenia Airways, confiscate its funds, and destroy it, with utter disregard for the suffering of the citizens.

3-To the tribes of Yemen, and to every father and mother:
Do not make your children fuel for futile wars that do not serve your country or its future, for the Republic was established to uphold the dignity of all Yemenis, without discrimination, and true change begins with everyone’s commitment to the project of the state, justice, and equal citizenship.

4-Experiments have proven that the policy of blackmail and escalation will bring Yemen nothing but more suffering. Therefore, the state, with all its institutions and armed forces, will continue to fulfill its constitutional duty in protecting its sovereignty and safeguarding the interests of its citizens, while keeping its hand extended to every sincere endeavor that achieves a just peace that ends the coup and upholds the dignity of Yemenis.

There are many clans and armed groups in Yemen, so it seems the situation is about to escalate.
