All those "transgressive" comics of the 1960s and 1970s never transgressed upon Hollywood values. They "transgressed" upon safe targets: Christians, Germans, WASPs, white picket fence conservatives, etc.

If Lenny Bruce were alive today, he'd toady to the now current Hollywood vogue of celebrating trannies.
