"...figured out what dimension my missing socks are in..."

Remember 'The Island of Misfit Toys' from Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer?

I have the 'Box of Unmatched Socks' on the floor of my bedroom closet.

Unmatched sock? Toss it in the box.
Every few months sort through the box and mates will be found.

Maybe there is some sort of 'sock cloning' happening in the box.
Dunno...

I use the big comfortable/padded chair we bought for my wife to nurse our oldest son 55+ years ago.

Due to damaged feet, I use at least 2 pair a day. It seems like one sock is always missing between taking them off, dropping them in the laundry basket and then doing the wash in the laundry room.

It used to drive my type A wife nuts until her post hip surgery, she often uses 2 pair of socks a day.

So now she joins me and half of that big chair is for her lost socks. The other half is mine.

I tried something like that but I just wound up with a box of left socks so I had to throw them out and start over.

Now it doesnt make a difference what color they are, I match them by thickness.
