Why are they wasting time teaching him? He wanted to represent himself so if he bungles that then it’s on him. I would talk way over his head and not hold his hand! He is being purposely difficult. This guy is a joke! I can’t believe he is putting the victims families through this.
He’s creating the environment of a trial where he didn’t understand the process or his own defense. My guess is that an outside attorney has coached him to do this.
I think the judge and the prosecutor are doing what they feel is necessary to avoid having the conviction overturned on appeal. They can’t let his strategy work.
Perhaps the word you need to describe this bastard’s behavior is Bamboozling. And the fools running the court system are completely clueless.

He wants to have grounds for appeal by saying he didn’t have proper representation... That is, himself.
Thus potentially providing grounds for mistrial or appeal.
