I can't imagine any brewing process tweak fixing Budweiser, although to be fair it's been *many* years (since college, when we affectionately called it Buttwiper) that I've tasted that sludge.

Stop using the water passed thru the Clydesdales?

Just a couple of months ago, I had a nice, cold Sam Adams Summer Ale and liked it enough to buy a six-pack, which a visiting friend and I consumed a couple of weeks ago. I should pick up another six.
I’ve discovered a lot of locally brewed stuff that I like. I really like witbiers and I can’t stand IPAs.

What kind of college student were you? A rich one? A lot of us had to slum with the likes of:
MeisterBrau
Keystone
Schmidt's
Old Milwaukee
Rheingold
Red, White and Blue
Ballantine
Black Label
Milwaukee's Best
Blatz
There was also a level below those that were undrinkable even by broke college students (Blatz, Koch's)
Tuborg was cheap, but stood up very well. That and Rheingold were favorites for cheap beer. If I had a little extra money I might have picked up a six of Old Style if the Cubs were on. Another option was efficiency by getting something cheap but strong (Mickey's, Colt 45).

I boiled beer in a big pot and finished in a plastic bucket and it tasted better than 90% of the beer you can buy in a store. If I can do it anyone can!
