I’ve heard “Sex and the City” described as “Four Gay men trapped in womens bodies”.
The thing is I LIKED Sex in the City. It was fun and funny. It was entertaining to watch.
The problem with it is they didn’t have the guts to be honest.
They all....in their mid to late 30s....after racking up a body count high enough to account for an entire football team....managed to land good guys they were happy with.
Sorry. That’s not reality. Women like the 4 depicted in the series are EXACTLY what men DO NOT WANT. Just the perfect epitome of everything they do not want. Too Old. Looks and fertility faded. Been the town bicycle. (they would all be bitter and hardened by that point too). Yuck. Hell No.
In reality they all would have ended up alone with their cats and their boxed wine. It was fine to show their hijinks and to show them having fun.....but they should have showed the eventual inevitable consequences of that. Stop lying to women and telling them they can have it all. They can’t - nobody can. This leads girls to think there will be no trade offs and they only realize they’ve been lied to and have wasted their youth when it is too late. This leads to a lot of unhappiness.
