BTW I have a friend who is an ardent Trump supporter, intelligent but definitely a little odd ball. He reported being interviewed by 3 major media outfits in the last week.
This was a concerted media effort to get “extreme” words from a select few at a rally.

Interview dozens of people, find somebody who said something outrageous and report just that.
BTW, standard media trick.
They may start with soft questions, which they will never publish. Make you comfortable and then throw on you few hard ones to try to make you to tell something they can cut out of context and make some extremist out of you.
