Color pictures until the 70’s were the work of professionals. This photo has the feel of a 70’s era Kodak. I think it’s a typo in the caption.

++++++++++++

My dad was a big camera guy, we have a lot of color photos, even one from when I was a baby in 1956 lol, that he took himself.

I have a photo of my parents right after they were married in 1950 that is color as well.

The woman, Mrs Scherff is a dead ringer for my mil. She’s gone now, but I would say that hairstyle is 1940’s. Hard to say.

It probably was taken by a professional and therefore there would have been few situations and groups of people who could have afforded the expense that would have been involved in the late 20s. The Scherffs, Mengele, Skorzeny and Bormann hobnobbed with the top of German leadership, however. They no doubt could afford a bit of color photography.

Here are another couple of 20s era color photographs for comparison:

Then, here's 20+ color photographs from about 1928, all in much better quality than that one of the Family Scherff, some 45 years ahead of your "feel."

Bah. Here I am knowingly posting in Festival because that’s not correct - maybe true before the 50’s

I have numerous color photos from the late 50’s just candid shots taken by my grandad. Color film and processing WAS more expensive so lot of people still used monochrome film.

As for the Scheff/Bush photo I agree its not from 1928 nor are those people Bormann, Menegla etc.
