No impact to the water or atmosphere. It will dissipate quickly. Just don’t light a match. And I heard this gas is under 1000+ psi in the pipeline. That’s a lot more than your propane tank at home.

Every seaport in the Middle East in 1976-77, the methane candles were the first visible things you could see, when approaching from the open sea.

Light'em up, and burn off the methane, rather than pollute the air.

Is the methane now captured? I remember the old refineries in Baytown having them, but that was a long time ago.
