slight slide - My credit union (where my checking/savings is) notified me over a month ago that they would be closed from September 30 thru October 4 and the on-line ability would also be off-line. I just read on Telegram (Whiplash347) that many banks are also going to be closed on those same dates. Have any FR been notified by their bank?

-—notified by their bank? Banks are itching to go paperless. Customer service be dammed. Just yesterday the drive-up lady at my nearby Wells Fargo said Friday 9/30 would be the last day for the drive-up window. My other bank BOA did a huge remodel about a year ago then turned around and closed their drive-up a few months later. And I notice both have a big turnover problem. Maybe they treat employees as bad as customers?
All mine says on their site is that debit cards will be unavailable on 09/29 for an update of their card machines.
