You may notice that some receivers are no longer equipped with CD/DVD players; they are labeled as “digital multimedia” or some variation. They are generally a bit lighter and the metal case is smaller (because it doesn’t have to accommodate a CD player). Crutchfield sells wiring harness adapters and plastic bezels that allow the new receiver to fit the dashboard of your car and plug into its factory wiring. The biggest part of the job is removing the factory bezel and electronics. When you select a receiver to look at in detail, the installation accessories should be listed as add-on items. They sell sets of non-marring plastic tools to use in prying off the factory bezel, well worth the price.
Just need a USB slot. I’m going to run by a Mazda dealer and see if they have any advice. Like a known professional installer. I looked at Crutchfield and liked what I saw but I can’t install it. The site says something about getting it installed but...... I’ll go look again.
Thanks for the help.
