Yeah, I’ve heard about the bird flu, but this is really recent. Eggs were abundant until a few days ago. Maybe it’s just now filtering down through the market?
It is somewhat regional. Prices always spike in the spring then continue to drop as fall approaches. This year the prices did not fall like in years past. If stores did not keep ahead of the demand by raising prices, they have run out and have bare shelves. Probably not coming back this year, so prices will go higher.
