Just because your reps support it doesn’t mean the people there do. Often politician’s handlers will tell them they’ll get them lots of war cash to get reelected.
Just because someone answers a polling survey with a particular response, doesn’t mean that particular issue is a deal breaker for voting for a particular candidate.
