I can't imagine it went on their sale for what they are now listed at on Ebay! Oh well, you can't keep everything.
That machine ... my mom also sewed on one of those for the longest time. When she was pregnant with my brother it was hard for her to treadle (is that a verb?). So while she sewed, I had to sit in the other side and do it. My sister has it now.
In the ‘60s, she got an electric one, which I’m taking to a quilting retreat next week.
I’ve heard, but am not sure, that sales of treadle machines are as high as “newfangled” electric ones, world-wide. Supposedly, the third-world sewing sweatshops use them.
