i do not think the Constitution means what he thinks it means....
Apparently it ain’t absolute.
Ted Cruz dipped his toe in this rancid pool when he slanderously attributed to Trump responsibility for certain leftist violence that was cropping up at the time (early 2016).
Biden is now rhetorically accusing MAGA Republicans, and not just Trump, of the same thing, when he claims that MAGA Republicans “fan the flames of political violence”.
Cruz was cynically seeking to leverage AntiFa-style street violence for his own political gain, falsely blaming Trump for it.
Trump was the taking the first steps toward extirpating from our domestic polity the foolish toleration that had built up over the decades since The Weather Underground’s (and similar organizations’) witch’s brew of sociopathic and psychopathic domestic political terrorism first broke upon the scene, thanks to nihilist cretins like Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrne.
It is so magnificently preposterous to blame Trump for the demonic violence of his implacable political enemies, it’s no wonder that Biden is not only still doing it, he’s spreading blame to all non-RINOS, and all non-Never Trumpers.
A Republican must now deliberately, openly and “unsolicitedly” signal the essential virtue of utter contempt for Trump, by freely engaging in nasty denigration of Trump. The cost of not doing this is that Democrats, Never Trumpers, and RINOs will carve you out of polite political society, and, in a magnificent slight of hand, brand you as domestic terrorists—the modern analogues Ayers and Dohrne.
