130 mph is respectable, but that was almost 70 years ago. Y’all have already forgotten about Ida, and that was just last year.

Bears watching.
(Actually serious on this... if it gets into the Gulf of Mexico's bath water, any coastal area there oughta pay attention. Check back around this weekend.)

We deal with them pretty often. Unless it’s something like Michael that was a 5 and made landfall at Mexico Beach, we’ll be fine down here. A Cat 3 or 4 isn’t great, but not unusual. We know how to handle them.

I use Weather Underground and they don’t even show a disturbance in the area.

Oh, noes! We're doomed!
I predict yet another nothingburger. Anyone want to place any bets?
Seems to me like the 'weather experts' are simply dying to have something, anything to report, since we've had no storms of note to date, after all their usual prognostications of doom earlier this year.

Looks like virtually a 0% chance of hitting the panhandle.

The media doesn’t tell the good stories about DeSantis, of course. Living in Florida has been really good under DeSantis and I think he is doing a great job. Florida is probably more ready for any recovery needs after a hurricane than we have been before.

The 06Z 09/21 has it back to hitting Apalachicola on 09/30, and by then, it’s heading northeast, so my area (Pensacola) will not get the worst of it, and we’ll be on what is called the “good side” of the storm.

In my area, Mexico Beach got scrubbed off the map a few years ago and is still rebuilding. Apalachicola is even closer. ALWAYS take hurricane warnings seriously until a miss is generated.

Mexico Beach did take quite a hit. A neighbor of mine if from there & I helped him running clothes, food, etc to the area after the storm. He’s still helping friends in the area rebuild.

Weather forecaster is one of those occupations where you can be wrong 50% of the time and still have a job.
Climatologist is an occupation where you can be wrong 100% of the time and still have a job.
