Aunt Agnes puts a ‘signature on file’ because she’s out playing bridge when her cribbage board arrives. Not everyone cares to sign. You must be special.

Many don’t care or have other arrangements for their packages where a signature is not required.

If you put one on file, you must also cancel it otherwise it is in effect till you do.

Since June, Express and Ground are supposed to take pics when delivering. My guess is yours was delivered by Freight which is probably why you had to track it down for two weeks. My guess was it was not delivered to the wrong address rather the shipper did a piss poor job securing it for shipment and it fell apart, with some tires missing the shipping information. So they were sitting on a dock somewhere till FedEx could determine who they belonged to.

During the entire pandemic, signatures were optional. UPS too. Still had to face to face with the customer but a signature was not required.

Still, the driver should not have done this if you wanted to sign.

Ok... You work for UPS or FedEx then. Obvious.

“My guess was it was not delivered to the wrong address rather the shipper did a piss poor job securing it for shipment and it fell apart, with some tires missing the shipping information. So they were sitting on a dock somewhere till FedEx could determine who they belonged to.”

They were delivered to the wrong address three times. But thank God the receiver at the wrong addresses were honest and they went back to the terminal, for a retry each day. All documented.

Then when they do finally get to me they just applied an “electronic signature on file” after I even offered to sign. Give me your email and I will send you the text chain of it all to prove what I say is absolutely true...

They would not stand a chance in court over their neglect and deception throughout the whole delivery experience. The signature issue was just a small part of this whole mess.

And it is not the first time it has happened. We also have several prior failed deliveries documented with the same issues.

I will have to say that I finally was able o make a contact who was very heplful in finding it, and making sure it DID get delivered. But it was like pulling teeth o get this lucky and finally get my product.

It cost me about about 20 hours of hardship, phone calls, and work to do it. Where is my 20 hours because of their incompetence?

Now I hear you saying “then your address on file was wrong and it is your own fault”. Nope... Same business address and name for over 40 years for ALL package deliveries to us from all carriers.

And they had my phone number, all they had to do was call. But they didn’t because their system and they are smarter than I am about where I live and who I am. lol

Welcome to the new “woke” management and business model. I told the driver when he finally got here. “Throw that GPS away and learn how to read a map!”. Or just call! A two minute phone call would have cured the whole delivery issue the first time out for delivery.

I have no clue how much it cost them in wages and fuel for this mess... A BUNCH! Much more than they were paid to deliver the product. That is FOR SURE.

And here is he kicker... We ordered from the shipper on the east coast in the afternoon, by the next morning they were on a truck from a west coast terminal “out for delivery”. We should have received these 6 tires basically overnight.

Bu because of incompetence and a system of chaos it took a week and a half just to get from the local terminal to us. Back and forth, back and forth, and if I had not chased them down they would have sent them back.

Now the real cause? Turns out GPS was wrong and the driver didn’t just pull up Google maps to find us. And heir system completely ignores he Zip Code map... GPS is much smarter than the Zip Code map...

This is bad management, policy, and system design from top to bottom. They need me to route this stuff, I could save them millions a year in overhead using common sense.

Ever track a package on their own system that keeps going back and forth for no reason at all even though it could have been delivered the next day? I know I am NOT THE ONLY ONE...
