I think you have hit it on the gold backed currency. China and Russia have been hording gold and some silver as well for some time now.Has to be a reason.
Reminds me of the destruction of Libya. Qdaffi had threatened to back the dinar with gold.Several years later and a few billion bucks later Soros had destroyed the country.He dropped more bombs on Libya than were dropped in WWII.
There is a worry by some about gold backed currencies.
