All they really need is some really attractive female alien hybrids. From personal experience, that is all that is needed to throw most men completely off their games.

Correct. Every year we have "near miss" asteroids. It would not take much to nudge one (or several) of those into hitting the earth and destroying human civilization, while not significantly affecting the colonization potential.
