If you jump the accessory battery, you get accessory power. If the main batteries are dead, you can’t charge them sufficiently to run the car from a jump battery. I’m still trying to make sense of the value of jumping an EV.
You have to have accessory power to be able to charge the drive battery
In this particular case (this thread) jumping the 12v battery would allow the owner to unlock the doors. Am not sure if you can get to the 12v. battery “jump point”/terminals with the doors/hatch locked tho..
Apparently you can “pop the hood” with a jump pack to get to the 12 v. dead battery? A bit confusing:
