You are essentially making the case that Trump was politically pressured into creating a worse plague on America, the world. And that he caved. We agree on that.
Trump was elected to drain them from DC. Instead he joined them, willingly. Because he is a populist politician and it was a popular idea at the time. And the election loomed.
I don't enjoy pointing out Trump failure. I want him to snap out of his ego coma and politically survive this awful mistake.
I want Trump to shout from the rooftops the things you said, not to continue in his ego-driven love of his imagined Warp Speed success.
Regardless your excuses, he still loves a terrible, failed product for which he still claims credit. This can't be spun as any sort of good quality of his. It's utter failure.
