why get fancy. I vote for bullet to the head. Effective, and inexpensive.

Sounds fine. I’ve heard it’s not like suffocating at all.

NASA Ames lost a technician who was testing a mask that was supposed to be hooked up to air instead of pure nitrogen. It was so quick he didn’t even have time to remove the mask.

I knew someone who offed himself with helium.
Put the mask on, went to sleep and never woke up.

The gummint’s been confiscating fentanyl; just use some of that and let him fly into eternity.

Fine. Put a plastic bag over their head. Secure it with a zip tie. Introduce nitrogen till dead. No special room. No special chair. Just be done with it.
And carry the sentence out immediately.
Humane. More humane treatment than their victims got.
Cheap.
Quick.

I’m for the most painless death possible.
I mean, they are about to face the Ultimate Judge, nothing we could do could compare to that.

The theory behind the execution method is that changing the composition of the air to 100% nitrogen would cause the inmate to pass out and then die from lack of oxygen. This is a strange and confusing "theory" to the AP.

This sounds too painless. He should be made to experience at least a small portion of the terror and pain of his victim(s) before they died.

I’ve always wondered why this is so complicated.
Car exhaust in a closed room. Done.
Charcoal fire in a closed room. Done.
Among the other things.

There are some crimes so hideous, the killers need execution in the same manner to be a real punishment…

Nitrogen gas will replace the oxygen in the feed and the convicted felon will pass out. There are many other ways that would work but this one is foolproof. I used to work with liquid nitrogen and we needed to make sure we had good ventilation.

States with the death penalty should have to use whatever method they use to euthanize dogs and cats.

whatever method they use on innocent stray pets at the pound should also be humane enough to use on these animals!

I retired as a lineman from SWBT. We spent much of our time working in manholes in which the fear of nitrogen was ever present. One breath of that gas causes immediate permanent unconsciousness. A second breath was guaranteed death. Our safety protocols were stringent, yet some people did die from nitrogen gas during my career.
