Navy: We're not releasing any more of our UFO videos. Not sorry

It’s been almost two and a half years since the United States Navy officially confirmed and released three videos showing unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP, or UFOs as some of us still call them) performing confounding maneuvers in the vicinity of some of our warships.

...

Within 24 hours of the official release, John Greenewald jr., the proprietor of The Black Vault, filed a FOIA request with the Navy. If there were three videos collected over a space of at least seventeen years, there should be more, right? So John asked the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) for all of them.

...

Along with their standard response, the Navy provided what Greenewald described as an “uncharacteristic” supplemental explanation for the denial, explaining why they previously released three videos but were not going to release the rest of them nor even tell him how many more they had. The original three had already been out in the public through unofficial channels, but the rest have not. You will also find the details of that rather dubious-sounding explanation at the link.

...

One thing to note here has less to do with what the Navy is saying and a lot more with what they’re not saying. They aren’t denying that they have more videos and likely photos and pilot reports as well. They’re not claiming a specific threat that might be posed if the information were to be made public. They’re not even suggesting that they couldn’t edit the videos in some fashion to make them less likely to reveal anything harmful. They’re simply telling everyone to shut up and sit down and the reasons why are none of your business.

It is funny that sightings and photographs of flying saucers and Bigfoot have decreased now that most everyone has a really good camera with them everywhere they go.

Yep. The Bledsoe's have an amazing bunch of stories. Jim Semivan spent some time down there IIRC.

What do you make of "The Lady"?

“What do you make of “The Lady”?”

I tend towards the “trickster” view of Jacques Vallee—which is that the entity can appear in almost infinite forms.

Terence McKenna had the great quote that the “other” appears as x or y in order not to terrify us.

;-)

The Bledsoes occasionally talk about what they were told about “the future” which is a trademark of the trickster—getting folks to spread “the word” about what will happen....

Imho the “phenomenon” has a very dark sense of humor—sort of a cosmological Don Rickles.

;-)

Yep. I like Bledsoe and think he is sincere. But I think "the Lady" isn't what she appears to be.

Bledsoe was very religious until he was abandoned and rejected by members of his church.

His experiences may in some way be a reflection of and product of his experience with his church.

Churches tend to get kinda upset at people who have visions of their own.

They like their religion retail and not wholesale.

;-)

(McKenna called churches spiritual “thin gruel”.)

To carry McKenna’s analogy further—the Bledsoes are feasting on caviar and champagne—while the local church-goers are eating two thousand year old bread and drinking cheap wine.

It is little wonder the locals have an “attitude”.

Secret gov’t projects?

Sure, bud. The government made craft that can do impossible things according to our current laws of physics yet they can’t beat a bunch of illiterate mountain people in Afghanistan, eh?

These craft can outrun any missile in existence. They can go underwater, hover at any altitude, change direction instantaneously at any speed, and go to outer space in seconds — with no visible propulsion system.

Why on earth would we continue a moronic charade of space shuttles, F-18s, submarines and aircraft carriers?

"Oh...you don't know what a 'Teaser' is...let me explain. Teasers are usually rich kids with nothing to do. They cruise around looking for planets that haven't made interstellar contact yet and buzz them, meaning that they find some isolated spot with very few people around, then land right by some poor unsuspecting soul whom no one's going to believe and then strut up and down in front of him wearing silly antennas on their head and making beep beep noises. Quite childish really."

Perfect for this thread. Adams was a genius
