Joe Bastardi over at Weatherbell has been saying the same thing.

His prediction is a very nice fall through Oct, then a big change and very cold for Nov, Dec, and Jan. Not sure about beyond that yet.

They base their prediction on astrology among other things, so I don’t follow it.

when we get a stretch of lows near 50 and highs below 80 while it’s still August and September, it should be very obvious for those long-lived enough that this will be one of the most brutal winters of our lifetimes

you need to prepare for TSHTF on winter weather - be prepared to get snowed in for weeks at a time without power

I saw a wooly worm last week that was completely black. A sure sign of a hard winter.

“We see good potential for heavy snow that may reach as far south as Texas and Oklahoma, followed by a sweep of bitterly cold air,”

Yet, the map shows, “Chilly Normal Precipitation” for Texas and Oklahoma.

Bitterly cold is not chilly so which is it?

Folks in the Rockies and across the Plains are going to see a whole lot of snow during the first week of January 2023. “We see good potential for heavy snow that may reach as far south as Texas and Oklahoma, followed by a sweep of bitterly cold air,” reads the Almanac.

Well, they sure need the precipitation. Lake Mead is almost empty.

If you always predict a hard winter, eventually you will get it right.

Not a very reliable source. But here is another Winter 2022/23 Snow Forecast: Here’s Your First Look at What Next Winter Might Hold… If they’re to be believed, it’s looking like an awesome winter for the east coast, a great winter for the midwest and intermountain west, average-to-slightly-above-average for the PNW, and average for California.
