If you read up on the tests done years ago on aircraft impacts on Nuclear reactor containment structures you’ll note that any aircraft hitting a reinforced structure at 400 mph essentially turns to dust. Even the wing roots melt down. Sometime after the initial cleanup a wheel assembly was found wedged in the gap between two other buildings about two blocks away. No harpoons, no missiles, no demolition charges, just 100 plus people riding a suicide plane into a wall. And there are very credible ground eye witnesses that saw the first hit. Fox’s Eric Shawn, walking to work, was one.
So, you’re saying a lot of the kinetic energy is absorbed back into the structure of the airframe when a plane hits a reinforced structure. Years ago, supposedly I saw a picture of the entry hole and was surprised how small it was. Thanks for the information.
