Hello Frens! I just can’t keep this to myself hahahaha... so last Sat we went on an adventure with our youngest son. He is getting a black lab puppy as a surprise for his family. And he asked good ol’ mom and dad to help him. Well, mainly, he wanted my input since I seem to pick the most disobedient, crazy dogs. 😂
We drove 2 1/2 hours east, to the flatlands, I swear near Kansas! On dirt roads, past fields and fields of something.
We get to her house and OH MY WORD.. cutest little pups ever! Mom was a beautiful yellow lab who was the sweetest dog ever. How come I never got a sweet yellow female lab?? 😂 Oh, that’s right I picked the wildest puppy who gave good eye contact. Puppy test begone.
I wanted him to pick brown collar but he picked blue collar. Later he said when he put the puppies through their little tests, brown collar would not stay on his side and fought him a little. I’m like yeah, that’s the pup for me hahaha. And blue collar was more submissive.
The breeders are wheat and millet farmers. 15,000 acres.
Blue collar will be ready for his new home in 3 weeks.
Hubby said (now we have wicked senses of humor), in front of the breeder and in front on son, “Ah, puppies are so much better than kids.” And my son, who is having his own issues with his 13 yr/o said, “Oh I agree.” And then we all started laughing!
That makes us laugh but it is a too common attitude among young adults. I can’t laugh anymore. Dogs rule the roost. At a baby shower for my daughter a grouchy labradoodle snapped at my other one year old grandson. Instead of putting the dog away from the crowd it was left to roam sticking his big ole head into every present. Dogs are dogs. I love my dog but there is a limit and we should not encourage replacemet. Rant over. I am still shocked and disappointed from that experience.
