The citizens of Germany don't spell their country's name like I did, they spell it "Deutschland". They pronounce it that way, too. This has been acceptable for centuries.
So why are we expected to spell the name of Turkey as "Türkiye? The Turks can spell it any way they like, and probably use some characters not even available on my keyboard. I can spell it any way I like, too.
