There’d be no ‘without the time/altitude’ issue..
It’d be the exact opposite..
Unless the parachutes failed..
Darn close to the second after they pushed me out against my will, at the highest altitude, I’d be pulling all sorts of cords..
Same with me. I would probably float into the next county.
My one and only airdrop was not tandem but did have a tether. Free fall for a short time then looked up to see chute opening nicely. Had a reserve if needed. Sometimes divers pass out or frak out so good plan.
Another device supposedly has an altimeter to do it if you’re unconscious. Not sure I’d trust it in case it deploys after a good release.

Me too. My luck I’d pull the harness disconnect instead of the ripcord. Skydiving is not in my future plans.
