Good morning, Jane!
Listened to Gov. DeSantis yesterday as he explained as Ian moved eastward flooding warnings and evacuations were being called for the east coast.
One place he mentioned was St. Augustine where I have a niece, her hubby and 3 little children, who just recently moved there to escape from San Diego.
Called my sister and she said they had evacuated to Key West where they have friends.
Niece was not too happy that they have gone from earthquakes to hurricanes.
My sister told her to be thankful that they had warning to get out, don’t get that with an earthquake.
Thankful that they are safe and sending prayers for all who were in the path of this very destrutive hurricane.

Glad you niece is safe. Praying for Florida. I heard Joe yelling a service stations not to be greedy and raise gas prices. He really doesn’t understand how things work.
Praises that your niece’s family are all safe.
I agree with your sis....better to at least have warning...unlike the earthquakes.
Just heartbreaking seeing all of the pics and vids, of the damage, out of FL.
Praying for all....and, for safe return for your niece, back to their home.
I watched several of DeSantis’s press conferences. Everything that he said was what I would have wanted to hear if I were living in Florida. DeSantis builds confidence by broadcasting important and factual information.
Yesterday I saw the beginning of one of Georgia Governor Kemp’s press conferences. He spent the first two minutes (or more) thanking many of his political buddies like the head of the state legislature. That is not the information that ordinary citizens want to hear when a threatening storm is approaching. I just switched channels
