No surprise, the script did call them Harfoots I think rather than Hobbits
Again, IMO it looks like the writers want to reinforce ties & familiar elements to PJ’s films hoping to please that audience that doesn’t mind discrepancies with Tolkien’s writings.
the Costumes, Prop work, design & Cinematography are above par though and since this is all fans of Tolkien are likely to be granted in filmwork I’ll stick with it and pretend im ignorant of errors, oversights etc.
