Oh, I don’t know — LJ’s post didn’t read to me like she was describing a military coup. I believe that she was indicating that we’re already in an extra-Constitutional situation.

What you are talking about is a military coup, which is totally outside the Constitution — except for one situation.
If the District of Columbia is removed via a decapitation strike, then executive orders from the Eisenhower and Kennedy eras would be invoked, which would place the military in control until civil government could be restored from the bottom up.

A coup is overthrowing a legitimate government. We are at war. Military stepping in to remove enemies foreign and domestic isn’t a coup, it’s defending the Constitution and the USA.
