I read TLOTR in college. Once. At that time, it made a big impact on me. But what I remember most about it was this little (and I mean microscopically tiny) known fact:

A band called Traffic (Steve Winwood, et al) had an album called “John Barleycorn Must Die”. If one ingested the correct amount of illegal substances, one would swear the album was about The Lord Of The Rings!

When CDs first came out, I took my son to buy his first CD-—Tupac. I saw the Traffic CD, bummed $10.00 off the kid and bought it. 20 years post illegal substances (do they even make that shit anymore??!!) it was really hard to find Lord stuff in it. Maybe I’ll try again...AFTER I re-read the books.
