Not to downplay the excitement, but perhaps the tooth was planted there. One can get them for under $20 on ebay even bigger than 5 inches.
Yeah, you just downplayed it LibWacker. Never ever trust anything on eBay. It’s all counterfeit.
Oooh, you’ve got a devious mind! Not meant as a criticism but as a ‘thank you!’ You’ve given us all something new to think about. It’d be an easy forgery to pull off, wouldn’t it?...
‘Course, if it is a planted tooth, I don’t know how long one could get away with it. If the hoaxer bought it on ebay, for example, there must be pics of it that will reveal it as such.
Little 8 year old kid found it and is excited as he can be...
You have to try to belittle what he did...
Are you jealous????
I hope the kid never hears such sh*t as you put out about this to spoil his great feeling of accomplishment...
You must be a sorry azz.......
My first thought when I read it was in a "Premium Gravel Layer pile", not in situ.
I doubt it was planted to what end? Get on the internet?
I still excited when I find an arrowhead on our farm and I’m 60 years old and arrowheads are hardly rare but it’s fun to find them.
This find was a thrill for the kid who might develop a lifelong interest in archeology.
