Yeah. I guess I can agree with Gregory Peck over Peter O’Toole (”To Kill a Mockingbird” vs. “Lawrence of Arabia”). But denying Newman in “Verdict” was a crime in itself.

Another one was Jon Voight over Robert De Niro back in 1978. Personalities and political leanings aside, De Niro should have won Best Actor that year. Of course he won in 1980 for “Raging Bull”, which was well deserved.
