The 3.6 has had head problems. We bought my wife a jk in 2012. They had to replace driver side head. This was not uncommon. After the warranty ran out, the cam phasers started messing up. I sold it.
She now uses my 2004 tj unlimited as her Go into town vehicle.
Had the LJ 18 years, no major problems. Love that straight 6 4.0 .

I know plenty of jeepers and have yet to hear about engine issues.

My ‘18 JL has 30k on it and the motor hasn’t as much as had a hiccup.

I will admit though I didn’t do my due diligence before buying it. I’m probably the only dumbass in the world that didn’t know Jeep outsources their 3.6 engines from Fiat.

Had I known that it would have more than likely been enough of an issue for me to look at getting something else.

Previous vehicle was a Toyota Tacoma.....in comparison the overall quality of the jeep just isn’t there.....and boy do I miss my truck bed.

But like I said, it runs fine.
