And yet useful idiot white people still join unions. Ya just can’t fix stupid.
When I went to work in uniform for New York State in 1980, I had the choice of not joining the Union. As well, many of the insurance coverages such as dental, and eye care are tied to the Union contract. At one point during my 25 year career, I signed a card that I didn't want to be a member of the Union anymore, and found out afterwards that despite signing that card, Union dues would still be deducted, and in the aftermath, I lost my dental and vision care coverage. I ended up joining the uniformed employees union again to get them back. I figured since they were still taking my money for Union dues, I might as well remain a Union member, and get my contracted benefits back. When I retired, I lost my dental and vision care since I was no longer employed by the State, and because I was no longer a dues paying member of the Union. They did have a retirement Union membership where you could purchase dental and vision care insurance through them, but after a year, I decided it wasn't worth it, and never renewed it.
