LOL   I got E3 for enlisting for six years.   My younger brother had his degree when he went in and did the mustang (E to O). He did the E3 thing in basic like you, and sewed on E4 just for being selected to attend Medina Annex.   Then he got a force reduction retirement as a Major after 17 years.
