My surgeon used the MAKO process computer guided tools. Both knees were done as outpatient surgery. In at 0600 home by 1500.

I watched that too. Interesting, they even shimmed things.
Later they were going to show a hip replacement. I started it. I quit. Too visceral. Too much cutting and invasion on a real human. The knee was more detached carpentry, as you said.

My dentist has tools like this. He runs some optical measuring tool in my mouth, then I hear some grinding while his machine forms a tooth cap. Minor additional shaping, then glued on with that UV curing glue..
