My point was if someone is interested in really old objects look no further than the rocks in your yard. In comparison to human manufactured items, even those from 1700 years ago are not what I would consider real old. That's only about 18 or so life times. That's nothing considering the age of the earth.
Hand crafted rocks are a big commercial hit the world over.
Some raw or cut rocks are a bigger commercial success than you might imagine.
I see. I don't think anyone is interested in old objects just for the sake of its age. As you pointed out, any rock would do the trick. They'd be interested in objects like diamonds or other gemstones because of their rarity and beauty.
Human made objects from antiquity interest me a great deal even if they have no intrinsic value.
