Megyn Kelly used a perfect metaphor - for the past several weeks Merrick Garland’s DOJ has been closing in on Trump with a series of concentric circles - starting with Steve Bannon and then other close associates like Peter Navarro, then the raid....closer and closer.

It is inconceivable now that they won’t indict Trump for something - can you imaging Chris Wray saying the FBI couldn’t find anything after a 9 hour raid of his house? It would be like sending Rudy into Epstein’s house before he didn’t kill himself only to say he found nothing wrong.

The Birth of the Federal Bureau of Investigation

John F. Fox, Jr., FBI Historian

July 2003

Actually a fascinating read. The FBI was born out of the Treasury Dept. Congress was very afraid of the executive branch having its own “secret police force” that could investigate (and pressure, blackmail, intimidate) members of Congress. Finally in 1908 Congress relented and allowed the DOJ to fund the FBI.

If they indict Trump, then it’s time for millions to march on Washington. Of course, the national guard will be waiting and will fire the first shot (i.e. the Fort Sumpter moment).
