Ever since I was a little kid leftists have pushed one fear after another. Always something caused by capitalist business.
That being said, years ago 3M found that the active ingredient in Scotchguardâ„¢ didn't break down in the environment.
There was absolutely no evidence that this was in any way harmful, and being darned near chemically inert, no reason to expect that it was on any level.
What did 3M do?
They pulled Scotchguardâ„¢ from the market. There was no requirement that they do this. There was no expectation that there ever would be a compelling reason to remove this chemical from their products.
They walked away from a very profitable and highly useful product out of a simple and straightforward abundance of caution.
If this is the first you've heard of this, consider, they did the right thing simply because it was the right thing, and didn't feel the slightest need to virtue signal.
