It should be TRUMP in 2024 - and DeSantis should wait until 2028 because he's still young and needs to make Florida a red state for generations: CPAC attendees reveal who they want to be on the ticket to face the Democrats

When President Donald Trump takes the stage at a major conservative conference in Dallas on Saturday he will likely have just received a boost to his 2024 plans in the form of a straw poll that will almost certainly rank him as the clear favorite among attendees.

But that is not the end of the story as far as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, whose star has been on the rise this year.

Attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference want him first to continue the work he is doing in Florida before taking up the national MAGA torch in the 2028 election.

In 2016 Trump got 63 million
In 2020 Trump got 74 million a record for republicans
In 2008 Obama got 69 million
In 2016 Hillary got 65 million

Most of us believe believe at least 10% of dem votes are harvested or illegal

How you extrapolate from those numbers Trump isn’t a stellar candidate and given polls of support for Trump that DeSantis is better defies a clear appraisal of his support

He’s the most popular republican candidate in history

Or we can’t win anyhow unless republican establishments stop fraud in their states

The first is a fact

The second may be true sadly

DeSantis who is promising can wait

I think Trump tops the 80 million mark in ‘24. Just a guess.

They voted against Trump in 2020. But it's likely Democrats took advantage of Covid restrictions to institute mail in ballots. It looks like that may have made them difference in Arizona, Wisconsin and Georgia. So it would be tied at 269. Trump wins because the House of Representatives will vote for him.

Keep in mind Hillary was widely disliked by the independents. That was not the case with Biden in 2020, unfortunately. Did fraud play a role? Yes. But not as much as we thought. Also, Biden took advantage of covid to campaign from the basement of his house. In normal times, Trump would have destroyed him on the campaign trail.

IMO Joe's 81 million represents Peak Election Fraud™.

No doubt in my mind that the election was stolen.

If we don’t stop the fraud, it will be stolen again. Personally, I believe those involved with stealing an election deserve the death penalty.

2016 was an anomaly. Hillary was a terrible candidate for the Democrats. So in a way, Trump lucked out there.

From 2016 to 2020, Trump got an extra 11 million votes.

Now compare Obama from 2008 with Biden in 2020. The difference is 12 million. So the math checks out.

Obviously, the Democrats took advantage of covid pandemic in 2020, we can agree on that. But did they manufacture 12 million extra votes?

The math does not check out at all. Only an idiot thinks 81 million votes for Gropin' Joe were all real. How many fake? I'd say millions.

republicans are going to have to appeal to some of those more in the center. <<<

and that's where I have a problem with the so called “center” .. what actual Trump policies DON'T appeal to the center??? can you name any??? ....any??? ...and I don't think a mean tweet counts as a policy decision ...

Unfortunately, that is true. Many of them contributed to it.

I agree with that. Unfortunately, perception often matters more than reality. The GOP has to do a better job of selling their brand. They also have to stop all the back stabbers like Mitch, Lindsey, Liz, etc.

We're vulnerable in 2024 even though we have the better policies. Good news are that the Hispanics are turned off by the woke and elitist direction the Democratic Party is in right now. So we have a real good opportunity there. But mainstream media remains extremely influential even though they no longer have the monopoly they used to have.
