Anne Heche is 'stable' after her Mini exploded when she smashed it into a house in Los Angeles, her ex-boyfriend Thomas Jane has told DailyMail.com.
The 53-year-old actress is 'expected to pull through' but remains intubated in hospital following the horror crash in Mar Vista on Friday morning, he said.
Jane, 53, also paid an emotional tribute to her, saying despite the fact they are no longer together he offers her his 'thoughts and prayers' and credited her 'one of the true talents of her generation'.
It comes after Heche pranged her Mini Clubman on a block of garages around 11am, before speeding off at up to 90mph and plowing straight through a house.
The actress, who also dated Ellen DeGeneres, was spotted on doorbell footage hammering down a residential street before she took out a hedge, slammed through building and her car exploded on impact.
She is understood to have battled scorching heat in the burning vehicle for up to 30 minutes before 59 firefighters arrived to drag her to safety.
Aerial footage also showed her bursting through the straps in a white bag before writhing in pain on a stretcher as she was bundled into an ambulance and rushed to a local ICU.
A picture taken before her first crash also showed Heche with what appeared to be a bottle of vodka in the cup holder of her Mini ahead of the horrific second smash.

They do that when you crash them into buildings at 90 mph.
And have bottles of vodka in the cupholders, that literally help fuel the fire.
I suspect the white bag is a measure to prevent infection.
Recent pics of her are not flattering but burn scars will not help her looks.
Of course she probably has the moolah for reconstructive surgery.
Burns are the worst pain possible, she’s going to want more than vodka.
And yes, I do have the experiences to make the comparisons.
I highly doubt it was 59 firefighters. And I highly doubt she was in a burning car for 30 minutes. And I’m a retired firefighter.
Why is this such a big deal when it’s a celebrity or some other famous person?????
So many people act as if this is more of a tragedy when it’s someone rich, or famous, or beautiful than just an ordinary person off the street. What? Do they have more value as a human being than the unwashed?
Where’s all the concern over the woman whose home was destroyed and life was upended because of this woman’s selfish, immature actions?
I am rooting for Anne Heche. A lot of people were mean to her after she realized that the lesbian approach wasn’t for her, and Ellen DeGeneres REALLY wasn’t for her.
👍👍
It’s to be a lot of fun going through alcohol detox while simultaneously dealing with burn injuries.

There are several images on DM. More than one story on this. They had several trucks out. Probably because she hit a house, so yes there were that many firefighters. As for time she was in it? that is up in the air.
Me too. She is a much better actress than given credit for.
The big deal is she almost killed someone like that nurse did.
Imagine sitting in your kitchen or living room some morning when some drunk ass actress crashes in the wall doing 90 mph. She has the money and insurance to pay for the damages thing is she is just lucky no one died.
I wonder what charges will be brought up against her?
Alcoholism is a terrible thing
She should immediately demand she be tried as a democrat
Sorry 4 to a truck.
Don’t worry, it appears she’s back into the lesbian lifestyle again. She is one messed human being
Her stint at Degeneres Carpet Cleaning messed her up.
kinda proves that speed doesn’t always kill...
Can confirm.
Second degree burns on my legs and cannot take pain medication. In the ER, when they were going to admin PM, I told them I couldn’t take it. They all immediately left the room and a nurse came back in, looking sad. I thought I did something wrong and she said, you are the first person any of us know of to refuse PM.
Thankfully, the burn cream worked wonders! Four stars for that miracle burn cream!
