Ol’ humble is just a porch dog, whose youth is behind him.

He lays there and dozes on and off.

Anytime the mailman walks by, a car turns the corner, a dog walks by, etc., he struggles to his feet, lifts his head and barks. Once they pass, he collapses back into slumber.

Just because he hears you and barks, doesn’t mean you need to talk back.
